What will be my future professional perspective when I finish my studies in Medical Anthropology?
Generally speaking, alumni find jobs shortly after their graduation or even before. Depending on their specialization in medical anthropology they will do research in health care institutes in the Netherlands or abroad. They may find a job in health management and policy or in a NGO. Of course, it is possible to do a PhD first. You can look for possibilities at the Amsterdam School for Social Science Research (www.uva.nl/assr) or other institutes and universities. You may also find possibilities to work on contracts for short term periods.
-
Can I do two modules in the same semester?
In general you can, but you should consider carefully the workload. Do not forget that for some modules you will have to finish the Foundations of Medical Anthropology first. Several short 'executive' modules in AMMA are parallel, in November/December. Check the AMMA website: www2.fmg.uva.nl/amma. You can attend all separate AMMA modules as a contract student or 'paying guest'.

What kind of weather can I expect in the Netherlands?
In the Netherlands we have a sea-climate, this means that we have a lot of rain, all through the year and temperatures will on average not get much higher than 25 Celsius in the summer. On the other hand temperatures will probably not drop below 10 Celsius in winter. So it is wise to bring some sweaters and rain gear.
